Alcohol, celebrations + a healthy lifestyle. HOW?

High in calories so will definitely not fit in with my diet – TRUE BUT ALSO NOT TRUE! Firstly, let’s change “healthy” to “balanced”.

Let’s be real – sometimes there’s no better way to decompress after a long day than with your favourite alcoholic drink. Much like dessert, alcohol, when consumed responsibly, can be a part of your balanced diet plan. Girls I’m going to be honest with you – I’m not missing a single celebration! I’m having my fave alcoholic drink almost every weekend and I balance my hustle week with weekend fun. YOU CAN DEFINITELY DO THAT TOO!

There is absolutely no need to avoid your fave drink when trying to be healthy. Plus, being open to occasional indulgence also makes your diet plan more sustainable in the long run. The key, however, is to not overindulge! BUT HOW MUCH ALCOHOL IS TOO MUCH? Girls, it’s very easy to drink your calories, which may result in weight gain (especially if you’re consuming less than healthy food items).

Some things to keep in mind when going out:

Eat before you drink | Choose low carb drinks such as vodka, whiskey, gin and tequila | Avoid drinks high in sugary syrups (basically your mix) | Drink smart – set a drinking goal for example two drinks and stick to it | Don’t forget to drink your water

Don’t ever feel guilty for celebrating your best friend’s birthday or enjoying a night out with the girls. I definitely recommend thinking about your goals and how badly you want to achieve them because this will determine the kind of lifestyle you’re going to choose!

Memories > Calories can be used every now and then.
